The Paradise Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Boyd Yellowjackets at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Paradise's pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so Boyd's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Paradise will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Friday, then bounced right back against Pilot Point on Tuesday. The Panthers were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Bearcats. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matches by six runs or more this season.
McKenna Snyder was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Brooke Limbaugh was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one double. Laura Siek was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
Paradise kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, Boyd entered their tilt with Ponder on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They never let the Lions get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. Give the Yellowjackets' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.
The result came thanks to Abby Atkinson's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 13 Ks.
Paradise is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Boyd, their record is now 22-4-2.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Paradise hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .330. However, it's not like Boyd struggles in that department as they've averaged .347. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
