Softball Recap: Westview Warriors vs. Lakeland Lakers
While Westview didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against the Lakeland Lakers on Tuesday as they made off with a 12-3 win. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by nine runs or more this season.
Janissa Lehman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on nine hits.
At the plate, Westview got a massive performance out of Kyiah Michels, who went 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits Michels has posted since back in May of 2024. Ella Williams was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Westview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .522. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lakeland only posted an OBP of .333.
