Soccer Game Preview: Kearney vs. Lexington

The Kearney Bearcats will take on the Lexington Minutemen in a tournament on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Kearney comes in on four and Lexington on three.

If Lexington heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Kearney took over last week. The Bearcats walked away with a 3-1 victory over Schuyler on Friday. Aiden Nutter had to tread lightly for part of the match after he was hit with a yellow card, but that was the only trouble Kearney got from the refs.

Meanwhile, Lexington faced Grand Island in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Minutemen came out on top against the Islanders by a score of 3-1.

Kearney's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those three games. As for Lexington, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.
