Volleyball Recap: Newington Triumphs

While Newington didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Shelton Gaels on Saturday, sneaking past 1-0. This was a revenge game for the Nor'easters: when they faced off against the Gaels on Saturday, they had to take a 1-0 loss.

Nate Parlapiano paced Newington's offense, picking up nine kills. Parlapiano got some help from Tristan Gorman and his ten assists.

The win made it two in a row for Newington and bumps their season record up to 6-2. As for Shelton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Newington wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 1-0 victory against New Canaan on the 5th. As for Shelton, they are headed away from home for the first time to face off against Amity Regional at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
