Basketball Recap: Mellen Makes It Eight in a Row at Home

Mellen waltzed into their game on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They beat the Butternut Midgets by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 78-28. Given the Granite Diggers' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while the Midgets are ranked 508th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mellen's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-3. As for Butternut, they are on a 45-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-20.
