Softball Recap: Warwick Drops Season-High Score on Denbigh

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Warwick). They had just enough and edged out the Denbigh Patriots 20-19. The high-scoring effort was just what the Raiders needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Warwick saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Burr, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with four RBI and two doubles. Talia Cunningham was another, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.

Warwick was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2025.

Warwick's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-9. As for Denbigh, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Warwick will welcome King's Fork at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: the Raiders have lost four straight at home , while the Bulldogs have lost five on the road. As for Denbigh, they will challenge Woodside at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolverines have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.75 runs per game on average), something the Patriots will no doubt try to take advantage of.
