Softball Recap: North Star Cougars vs. Ferndale Yellow Jackets

After flying high against Blacklick Valley on Tuesday, North Star came back down to earth. The North Star Cougars' rough 10-2 loss to the Ferndale Yellow Jackets on Wednesday might stick with them for a while. The result was an unpleasant reminder to North Star of the 14-6 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

For Ferndale's part, Aubrielle Leverknight was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. Leverknight has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts every time she's pitched this season.
