Softball Game Preview: Braxton County Eagles vs. South Harrison Hawks

The Braxton County Eagles will challenge the South Harrison Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Braxton County is looking for their season's first victory.

Braxton County came up short against Roane County on Tuesday, falling 25-3.

Meanwhile, South Harrison came into Saturday's contest having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 win over Tyler on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Hawks have posted against the Knights since April 13, 2016.

Emily Squires was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Ava Louk was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

South Harrison's win bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Braxton County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-12.

Braxton County might still be hurting after the 13-7 defeat they got from South Harrison when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
