Volleyball Recap: Fike Comes Up Short

Fike lost against Southern Nash back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Golden Demons fell 3-1 to the Firebirds. The Golden Demons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Fike started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-11, 25-20, 25-21.

Southern Nash found their leader in freshman Jayda Leonard, who had ten digs and two aces. Leonard has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last three times she's played.

Fike's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Southern Nash, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Fike has already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Knightdale on the 3rd. As for Southern Nash, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Hunt on the 4th.
