Volleyball Recap: West Chicago Comes Up Short

West Chicago was the 2-0 winner over Coal City when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wildcats fell just short of the Coalers by a score of 2-1 on Friday.

Taylor Frake paced West Chicago's offense, picking up 11 kills. Frake got some help from Gabbie Newell and her 15 assists. Newell was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

West Chicago now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Coal City, the victory got them back to even at 4-4-1.

West Chicago has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Glenbard South on the 5th. As for Coal City, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Trinity on the 5th.
