Baseball Recap: Fairfield Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Fairfield entered their tilt with Florin on Thursday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Florin Panthers 11-1. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by ten runs or more this season.

Pat O'Reilly was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other pitching news, Zach O'Reilly and Donavan Luu dominated on the mound. O'Reilly went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one double, while Luu went 1-for-4 with two runs and one triple. Furthermore, O'Reilly didn't allow a single hit, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2024.

Back at the plate, Devin Knox was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. He has become a key player for Fairfield: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-2 otherwise. Tristen Smith was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases.

Fairfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in four consecutive contests.

Fairfield's record now sits at 4-2. As for Florin, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Fairfield didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 7-1 victory against Vacaville Christian on the 7th. As for Florin, they have also already played their next matchup, a 13-1 loss against Valley on the 11th.
