Basketball Game Preview: Sheldon Panthers vs. Everton Tigers

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Sheldon Panthers take on the Everton Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday... Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses dating back to last season for Sheldon and 32 for Everton dating back to last season.

Last Tuesday, Sheldon took a blow against Weaubleau, falling 77-29.

Meanwhile, Everton had to suffer through a 91-41 loss at the hands of New Covenant Academy.

Sheldon will have to keep a close watch on Noah Morris and Joshua Daniels, a pair of players who had a big impact on Everton's prior game. Morris posted eight points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists, while Daniels dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. Daniels' evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Wylie Vigesaa, who had three points and three steals.

Even though they lost, Everton was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since the start of last season.

Everton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Sheldon, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 0-6.

Sheldon took their win against Everton in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 54-34. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sheldon since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
