Basketball Recap: Mountlake Terrace Comes Up Short

Mountlake Terrace was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 56-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Shorewood Stormrays. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 67-53 back in January.

Despite the loss, Mountlake Terrace saw an underclassman step up: freshman Jaliyah Dyson went 10 of 17 en route to 23 points in addition to eight boards and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dyson has scored all season. Abby Mattens also deserves some recognition as she grabbed her first steal of the season.

Mountlake Terrace's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Shorewood, they moved to 7-12 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Mountlake Terrace wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 44-40 win against Edmonds-Woodway on the 30th. As for Shorewood, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-55 victory against Lynnwood on the 31st.
