Baseball Recap: Argonaut's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Argonaut never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past the McNair Eagles 16-0. The victory was just business as usual for the Mustangs, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

Jacob Teravskis and Sam Jones were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Teravskis kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Jones pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Furthermore, Teravskis didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. At bat, Teravskis went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Jones scored a run while going 2-for-5. What's more, Jones posted two hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Marcus Scaife and Clayton Hardy did most of the damage at the plate: Scaife scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5, while Hardy scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave Hardy a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Robert Cable, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Argonaut kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now hit at least nine hits in four consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Argonaut's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for McNair, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Argonaut will square off against Cosumnes Oaks at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for McNair, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 6-3 defeat against Waterford on the 20th.
