Football Game Preview: Chelan Mountain Goats vs. Cascade Kodiaks

The Chelan Mountain Goats will head out to take on the Cascade Kodiaks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Chelan is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Cashmere on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Mountain Goats were beaten by the Bulldogs 59-8. The loss continues a trend for the Mountain Goats in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost nine in a row.

Meanwhile, Cascade fell victim to Omak and their airtight defense on Friday. They were dealt a 42-0 defeat at the hands of the Pioneers. While losing is never fun, the Kodiaks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington football rankings (they are ranked 246th, while the Pioneers are ranked 116th).

Cascade's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Chelan, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Everything came up roses for Chelan against Cascade in their previous meeting back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 58-28 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mountain Goats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
