Preview: Leeds Greenwave vs. Etowah Blue Devils
Leeds has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Etowah Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Leeds came out on top against St. Clair County by a score of 61-52 (the very same score they lost by the week prior).
It was another big night for Tabari Davis, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 steals. The contest was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. Chris Burge was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Etowah entered their tilt with Southside with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Etowah enjoyed a cozy 66-52 win over Southside on Friday. Given Etowah's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 39th, while Southside is ranked 269th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Hueytown's win bumped their season record to 0-0 while Leeds' defeat dropped theirs to 2-2.
Leeds came up short against Etowah when the teams last played back in November, falling 60-50. Can Leeds avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
