Softball Recap: Capital Cougars vs. North Thurston Rams
Capital had lost three straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped down to 2-13 to make it four. They lost 27-2 to the North Thurston Rams. The Cougars lost against the Rams in their previous head to head back in May of 2025, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 11-8 score last time.
Capital saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lexie Dura, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
As for North Thurston, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 17.3 runs.
On North Thurston's side, Paige Guyer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Guyer was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with five runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Saidee Trolson, who fired off five runs, four doubles, and four RBI while going 4-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Syriahs Trolson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple.
