Basketball Game Preview: Argyle Eagles vs. Marcus Marauders

The Argyle Eagles will challenge the Marcus Marauders at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Argyle: they have been struggling with seven straight losses at home dating back to last season, while Marcus has snatched up eight consecutive wins on the road also dating back to last season.

Argyle saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took down Georgetown 53-39.

Meanwhile, Marcus posted their closest win since November 10, 2023 on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Bowie 51-48. Given the Marauders' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while the Volunteers are ranked 182nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Argyle is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.4 points per game. As for Marcus, their win bumped their record up to 11-3.
