Softball Game Preview: Hudson Explorers vs. Cuyahoga Falls Black Tigers

The Hudson Explorers are taking a road trip to challenge the Cuyahoga Falls Black Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hudson has given up an average of 11.8 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Hudson came up short against North Royalton on Monday, falling 17-2. The Explorers haven't had much luck with the Bears recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Bailey Deutsch was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Shawna Baylor, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Meanwhile, Cuyahoga Falls was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 13-1 to Highland.

Cuyahoga Falls saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryleigh Burns, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.

Cuyahoga Falls' defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Hudson, their loss dropped their record down to 1-11.

Hudson came out on top in a nail-biter against Cuyahoga Falls in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 5-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Explorers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
