Soccer Recap: Newaygo Falls to Montague in First Game of Season

Newaygo unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Montague Wildcats on Wednesday, falling 5-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 7-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newaygo will face off against Wyoming at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Montague, they are taking a road trip to face off against Forest Hills Eastern at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
