After a string of three wins, Snake River's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They and the West Side Pirates were almost perfectly matched up, but the Panthers suffered a 21-20 loss. The Panthers lost against the Pirates in their previous head to head back in September of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 27-0 score last time.

Despite the loss, Snake River still got an impressive performance from Preston Wheatley, who picked up 104 receiving yards and a pair of scores, and also rushed for 55 yards and one touchdown. Wheatley also put up two receiving touchdowns, which were his first of the season.

Snake River now has a losing record of 3-4. As for West Side, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.

Looking ahead, Snake River will be playing in front of their home fans against American Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Beavers' defense has only allowed ten points per game this season, so the Panthers' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for West Side, they will head out on the road to take on Aberdeen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Pirates 13.3, the Tigers 13.7) so any points scored will be well earned.
