Shadow Mountain gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They blew past the Paradise Valley Trojans 16-1. The win was familiar territory for the Matadors, who have now won five contests in a row dating back to last season.

Casey Evans made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over four innings pitched. What's more, she gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest she's had since back in February of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two).

In other batting news, Ava Maroulis was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Khloe Zenk was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
