The Nooksack Valley Pioneers are taking a road trip to take on the Mount Vernon Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Nooksack Valley will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between Nooksack Valley and Anacortes, and Nooksack Valley kept the tradition alive. The Pioneers were the clear victors by a 17-1 margin over the Seahawks on Monday. The Pioneers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.
Alayna Vanieperen and Payton Bartl made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Vanieperen tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Bartl tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. At bat, Vanieperen went 1-for-3 with three runs, while Bartl got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs. Those three runs gave Vanieperen a new career-high.

In other batting news, Alayna Dykstra was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and three runs. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Shelby Mason, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.
Nooksack Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .609. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive matches.
Cedar Park Christian typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Mount Vernon proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 6-1. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Mount Vernon pushed their record up to 14-3 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Nooksack Valley, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 13-6 record.
Nooksack Valley suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to Mount Vernon in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Pioneers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
