League recap: Roberts overpowering for Palmer Trinity in past week

3A District 16 league recap: 3/27/13

Ben Roberts was the best pitcher in 3A District 16 this week, leading Palmer Trinity. Over the past week, he racked up one win and seven strikeouts.

Westminster Christian had a successful week, as it won three total games to lead the league. The Warriors beat Doral Academy 14-1 and Archbishop Carroll 9-7.

The Falcons boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks.

Four batters hit over .400 this week. They were led by Nick Font, who hit .800 this week (4-for-5).

The most RBI in the league this week belonged to Palmer Trinity's Blake Miller, who drove in five. For the year, he has racked up 16 RBIs, good for first in the league.



Gio Soto drove in four runners as the Falcons defeated Ransom Everglades 13-2 on Thursday. He went 3-for-4 and scored two runs.
