Basketball Recap: Jordyn Wilson Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Dan River

William Campbell won the last time they faced Dan River and things went their way on Friday too. The William Campbell Generals managed a 54-49 win over the Dan River Wildcats.

William Campbell's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jordyn Wilson, who posted 22 points in addition to seven boards and five assists. The dominant performance gave Wilson a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was I'Yhana Copeland, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Despite the defeat, Dan River had strong showings from Liza Maxey, who scored 17 points, and Katie Evans, who put up ten points and seven boards. Evans is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games she's played. Gia Stone was another key player, putting up six points and five rebounds.

William Campbell now has a winning record of 11-10. As for Dan River, their loss dropped their record down to 2-18.

Looking ahead, William Campbell will take on Gretna at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. William Campbell has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Dan River, they will square off against Chatham at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Chatham will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Dan River surely won't give up without a fight.
