While Cherokee's win against Vina wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Indians skirted past the Red Devils 10-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Indians have posted since February 25, 2025.

Emily Crocker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and seven unearned) runs on eight hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Layla Gorman, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Tatum Lockett also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Cherokee and bumps their season record up to 13-15. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Vina, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-21 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cherokee will head out to face off against Phillips at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Vina, they will venture away from home to take on Lynn at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
