Basketball Game Preview: Herington Railroaders vs. Wabaunsee Chargers

Herington is 0-10 against Wabaunsee since February of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Herington Railroaders will welcome the Wabaunsee Chargers at 6:00 p.m.

Last Friday, Herington came up short against Goessel and fell 36-24.

Leslyn Kremeier put forth a good effort for the losing side as she posted 14 points and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last four games she's played. Adrian Harrison also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Wabaunsee, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Solomon 66-26. The Chargers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 22 points or more this season.

Wabaunsee's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.3 points over those games. As for Herington, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.

Herington took a serious blow against Wabaunsee in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 77-28. Can Herington avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
