Gerstell Academy put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Friday. Everything went their way against Concordia Prep as Gerstell Academy made off with a 43-20 win. Given Gerstell Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 39th, while Concordia Prep is ranked 205th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Eniyah Stinnette continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring eight points along with 16 rebounds and four steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was MiMi Delone, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Maryvale Prep was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Wednesday as they fell 35-30 to Severn School.
Gerstell Academy has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Maryvale Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
Gerstell Academy took their win against Maryvale Prep in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a conclusive 44-18. Will Gerstell Academy repeat their success, or does Maryvale Prep have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
