Softball Recap: Bishop Carroll Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

Bishop Carroll extended their postseason success on Wednesday against Hays. They never let the Indians get on the board and left with a 9-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Golden Eagles, who have now won 19 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

The result came thanks to Allyson Orth's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Bishop Carroll let Keira Stripling and Kiersten Jones run wild. Stripling went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Jones went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Stroot, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one double.

Bishop Carroll hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in ten consecutive games.

Bishop Carroll's victory was their 16th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Hays, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.

As of now, neither Bishop Carroll nor the Indians have any future games scheduled.
