Baseball Game Preview: Medway Mustangs vs. Norwood Mustangs

Medway hasn't had much luck against Norwood recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. Medway will welcome Norwood at 4:15 p.m. Norwood took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Medway, who comes in off a win.

On Wednesday, Medway made easy work of Norton and carried off a 9-3 win.

Johnny Farrell made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed seven innings while giving up three earned runs off nine hits. Farrell was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Trevor Smith, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jackson Duguay, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Meanwhile, Norwood fell victim to Ashland and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clockers. The Mustangs' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Norwood saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brian Dearborn, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases.

Medway is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Norwood, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.
