            Softball Recap: Sault Area Blue Devils vs. Marquette Sentinels        
        
		
        
        
            Sault Area extended their losing streak  to six  on Friday, dropping their season record down to 1-10 in the process. They lost  22-8 to the Marquette Sentinels. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Sentinels this season,  with their most recent  defeat being a  11-7  loss  on Friday.
As for Marquette, their win was  their third straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 15-7. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matches by seven  runs or more this season.
For Marquette's part,  Cece Fuller made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  pitched five innings while giving up just two earned  (and six unearned) runs off   four  hits. Fuller was also stellar in the batter's box,  getting on base  in all five of her plate appearances with three  RBI, two  runs,  and two  doubles. Those  two  doubles gave  her a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  Charlye Swajanen was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with three  runs, three  RBI,  and one  double. That's the most  hits  she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was  Eva Dewitt, who  got on base  in four of her five plate appearances with four  RBI, two  runs,  and one  double.
 Sault Area has  already played their next  contest (against Westwood), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Marquette, they will challenge Plymouth Christian Academy at 9:00  a.m.  on Saturday. The Sentinels' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 7.8  runs per game this season.
