Last Friday, Draper APA was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 59-54 to Gunnison Valley. Draper APA has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite their defeat, Draper APA saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Carter Vijayaraghavan, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Those ten points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Ian Campbell, who scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, Milford entered their tilt with Bryce Valley with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Milford blew past Bryce Valley 48-24.
Milford's win on Wednesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kielen Tsosie, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. The match was Tsosie's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Tanu Aaitui was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Draper APA's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Milford, they pushed their record up to 5-3 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Draper APA have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 31.9 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Milford, though, as they've been averaging only 37.6 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
