Football Recap: Hampton Bulldogs vs. Johnson County Longhorns
Hampton was the 32-26 winner over Johnson County when they last played one another back in August of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Hampton Bulldogs took a blow against the Johnson County Longhorns on Monday, falling 41-8.
Juan Mejia went supernova for Johnson County, rushing for 177 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Jace Stout, who threw for 179 yards and two touchdowns on only 17 passes.
Hampton's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Johnson County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hampton will take on Pisgah at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Johnson County, they will look to take advantage of their home-field for the first time this season as they take on Claiborne at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
