Volleyball Recap: Plainfield Takes a Loss

Plainfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Avon Orioles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Orioles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in April.

Plainfield took Avon into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-21, 21-25, 22-25, 17-15.

Plainfield's defeat dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Avon, the victory snapped their losing streak at seven games and leaves them with a 3-13 record.

Plainfield didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Perry Meridian on the 6th. As for Avon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Pike on the 6th.
