Basketball Recap: East Duplin Comes Up Short

East Duplin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a blow against the North Lenoir Hawks, falling 71-39. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 77-69 back in January.

Despite the loss, East Duplin still got an impressive performance from Calvin Harper, who went 7 of 14 en route to 18 points. Sawyer Whaley also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

Even though they lost, East Duplin smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in four consecutive matchups.

East Duplin's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for North Lenoir, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-14.

East Duplin will take on South Lenoir at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Lenoir, they will square off against James Kenan at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Lenoir has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 190 points over their last three games.
