Recap: Springstead Eagles vs. Crystal River Pirates
The Springstead Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 20 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Crystal River 51-11 at home. That 51-11 margin sets a new team best for Springstead this season.
It was another big night for Malanie Francis, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds. She set a new season high mark in steals with four. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Suarez, who scored nine points along with ten steals and six assists.
Springstead's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for Crystal River, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.
Springstead will be home for the holidays to greet Fivay at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Crystal River will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Springstead at 8:00 p.m. on December 27th.
