Liberty and Doherty are an even 4-4-1 against one another since May of 2015, but likely not for long. The Lancers will take on the Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Liberty will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Liberty's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over Fountain-Fort Carson. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Liberty were the better team in the second half.

Gemma Ellis and Aj Parra scored both of Liberty's goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Doherty's offense. They came up short against Rampart on Tuesday, falling 6-0. The loss continues a trend for Doherty in their meetings with Rampart: they've now lost seven in a row.

Doherty's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Liberty, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3-2.

Liberty took their win against Doherty when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lancers since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
