Basketball Recap: Mars Takes a Loss

Mars lost against Chartiers Valley back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Mars Fightin' Planets took a 61-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chartiers Valley Colts. While losing is never fun, the Fightin' Planets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 160th, while the Colts are ranked 39th).

Mars has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season. As for Chartiers Valley, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 18-3.

Mars does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chartiers Valley, they will welcome Aliquippa at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Chartiers Valley's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
