Basketball Recap: Caldwell's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Caldwell had lost nine straight headed into Friday's match, but Ella Risley didn't let it get to ten. The Caldwell Bluejays came out on top against the Sedan Devils by a score of 41-31 on Friday thanks in part to Risley, who posted 14 points in addition to six steals and five rebounds. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game.

The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Rohrbaugh, who scored ten points and six boards. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Caldwell's win bumped their record up to 2-10. As for Sedan, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7-1.

Caldwell will face off against South Haven at 6:00 p.m. on January 31st. The timing is sure in South Haven's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home while Caldwell has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road. Sedan has already played their next contest (against Dexter), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
