Saint Francis has gone 9-1 against Archbishop Mitty recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Lancers are taking a road trip to square off against the Monarchs at 4:00 p.m. Saint Francis will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Saint Francis' pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They put the hurt on Whitney with a sharp 6-0 victory. The Lancers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matchups by six runs or more this season.
Mercedes Coller tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Saint Francis got a big performance out of Peyton Tsao, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Hummel, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Archbishop Mitty beat College Park 7-2 on Saturday.
Archbishop Mitty also got a great performance from Kyleigh Mace as she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched.
At the plate, Olivia Anderson was excellent, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Payton Burton, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI.
Archbishop Mitty was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.
Archbishop Mitty's win bumped their record up to 10-4-1. As for Saint Francis, their victory bumped their record up to 16-2.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Saint Francis has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.2 hits per game. However, it's not like Archbishop Mitty struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.9 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Saint Francis beat Archbishop Mitty 7-2 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Lancers repeat their success, or do the Monarchs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
