Softball Game Preview: Central Bucks West Bucks vs. North Penn Knights

Central Bucks West is 1-9 against North Penn since May of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Bucks will take on the Knights at 4:00 p.m. Central Bucks West is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, Central Bucks West sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Plymouth Whitemarsh.

Ana Glemser spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Central Bucks West's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Hooven, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

North Penn came out on top against Quakertown on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fifth inning. The Knights blew past the Panthers 10-0. The match marked the Knights' most dominant victory of the season so far.

North Penn's win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-5. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Central Bucks West, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
