The Lake Norman Wildcats will challenge the Bandys Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lake Norman is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.
Bandys will be up against a hot Lake Norman squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Lake Norman never let West Cabarrus get on the board and left with a 14-0 win on Tuesday. That 14 run margin sets a new team best for the Wildcats this season.
Vivian Billard made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Billard was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Lake Norman let Kyera Combs and Avery Evans run wild. Combs went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double, while Evans scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave Evans a new career-high. Kaylee Harris was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
Lake Norman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Cabarrus only posted an OBP of .100.
Meanwhile, Bandys can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Tuesday. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over West Lincoln. The Trojans' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Piper Barrymore was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Avery Alexander, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Paige Barrymore, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.
Lake Norman pushed their record up to 3-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Bandys, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
