Volleyball Recap: Dixie Falls Despite Big Games from Alissa Braegger and MJ Mauinatu

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Dixie can now relate to. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ridgeline Riverhawks on Monday. The Flyers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Riverhawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2018.

Dixie's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of MJ Mauinatu, who had nine digs and two blocks, and Alissa Braegger, who had 12 digs, six kills, three aces, and one block. Mauinatu is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last 21 games she's played.

Dixie has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-12 record this season. As for Ridgeline, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season.

Dixie has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Park City on the 27th. As for Ridgeline, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Desert Hills on the 27th.
