Baseball Recap: Edison Comes Up Short

Edison had lost ten straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped down to 6-16 to make it 11. They fell 5-2 to the Mission Viejo Diablos. The Chargers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Diablos earlier this season, when they won 4-2.

As for Mission Viejo, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games.

For Mission Viejo's part, Aiden Chapuis looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Chapuis has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jacob Ramirez, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Logan Marsee, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Edison will host Marina at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mission Viejo, they will challenge Beckman at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
