Basketball Recap: Memphis Business Academy Beats Lakeland Preparatory for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Memphis Business Academy waltzed into their match on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They strolled past the Lakeland Preparatory Lions with points to spare, taking the game 79-63. Given the Execs' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while the Lions are ranked 330th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Memphis Business Academy was led to victory by Larry Benson and Ethan Caswell. Benson shot 5-for-9 from long range and dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten assists, while Caswell dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten boards. Benson's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Carpenter, who went 7 of 11 en route to 15 points.

Memphis Business Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.2 points per game. As for Lakeland Preparatory, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-8.
