Basketball Game Preview: Ridgeview Wolfpack vs. Central Wise Warriors

Ridgeview hasn't had much luck against Central Wise recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Ridgeview Wolfpack will be playing at home against the Central Wise Warriors at 6:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, Ridgeview made easy work of Abingdon and carried off a 57-37 victory. The Wolfpack have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Central Wise came tearing into Saturday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 58-40 win over the Bearcats. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while the Bearcats are ranked 252nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Central Wise's victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-2. As for Ridgeview, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Ridgeview came up short against Central Wise when the teams last played back in January, falling 58-52. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Central Wise's Emmah McAmis, who posted 26 points.
