Baseball Game Preview: Hanahan Hawks vs. Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes

The Hanahan Hawks will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Ashley Ridge Swamp Foxes at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Hanahan's tournament run continued when they took on Fountain Inn last Saturday. Hanahan fell just short of Fountain Inn by a score of 5-3.

Meanwhile, Ashley Ridge can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game last Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Philip Simmons 5-3.

Alan Carden and Braxton Sherrouse dominated on the mound. Carden tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits, while Sherrouse didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Ashley Ridge's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jeremiah Alford, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Jack Healing also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Hanahan now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Ashley Ridge, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Hanahan skirted past Ashley Ridge 8-7 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Will Hanahan repeat their success, or does Ashley Ridge have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
