Joel Ortega put up the most hits he's had since back in April of 2024 on Thursday. As a matter of fact, he produced his best game of the campaign: he scored five runs and stole two bases while going 5-for-6. He also brought in three RBI, which is notable because Ruidoso is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 8-13 otherwise.

Looking ahead, Ortega and Ruidoso will challenge New Mexico Military Institute at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Warriors had to take a loss when they last met the Colts, but Ortega had little to do with the loss: he went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
