Baseball Game Preview: Smithfield Packers vs. Jamestown Eagles

The Smithfield Packers will face off against the Jamestown Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Smithfield: they have been struggling with five straight losses at home, while Jamestown has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Smithfield and York have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Wednesday. The Packers fell 6-1 to the Falcons.

Smithfield saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Waycaster, who went 1-for-4 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Jamestown hadn't done well against Grafton recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Eagles narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Clippers 5-3.

Jamestown let Luke Adams and Charles Clawson run wild. Adams went 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI, while Clawson went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. William Morris was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Jamestown's win bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Smithfield, their loss dropped their record down to 5-13.
