Baseball Game Preview: Inglemoor Vikings vs. Seattle Academy Cardinals

The Inglemoor Vikings will head out to take on the Seattle Academy Cardinals at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Inglemoor has three straight wins, Seattle Academy has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Friday, Inglemoor sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over Redmond.

Henry Kresken tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jeffery Myhre was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Braedan Howe, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Seattle Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Bishop Blanchet on Wednesday and fell 2-1.

Seattle Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Davidson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Inglemoor's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Seattle Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.
